About Us

The Jakarta Drilling Society (JDS) is a non-profit organization commited to advancing the growth and development of the drilling industry in Indonesia. Established in 2019, JDS provides a platform for education, networking, and professional development, driving innovation and growth within the drilling community.

Through our programs, JDS strives to bridge the gap between academia and industry, ensuring that our members equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the drilling industry. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our curriculum, experienced instructors, and supportive community.

Our vision is to develop drilling capabilities in Indonesia and become a pioneer in the field of drilling education and innovation.

Mission

JDS is committed to organizing non-profit Drilling Education for Oil, Gas, and Geothermal Industries in and for the nation by not only equipping all individuals, regardless of background, with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in the drilling industry but also by creating an inclusive and supportive community to promote sustainable drilling practices to drive economic growth and energy security in Indonesia.

2019

JDS Batch 1

JDS was brought to Jakarta in 2019 and had 60 participants from various backgrounds.

2020

Batch 2

JDS gained awareness and the community is growing, 800 applicants were screened and 70 participants were accepted

2021

Batch 3

The pandemic did not stop us from learning. We received more than 1,000 applicants with 94 scholarship awardee as batch 3

2022

Batch 4

Over 900 applicants showed great interest in Batch 4. 80 participants were accepted.

Our Activities

JDS unlocks free access to drilling education to the scholarship awardee who are passionate about drilling. JDS education curriculum covers the cores of drilling activity. Other than classes, JDS enables participants to network through various activities held by the participants and alumni and gain further insights about the industry.

Our Curriculum

Jakarta Drilling Society's curriculum covers the cores of drilling operation from well design, well engineering, until the strategy to carry out well execution. With industry experts and professionals leading the class, participants will be able to learn directly from real-life experiences and be relevant in the industry. This enables participants to learn from both technical and non-technical aspect.
